


Located in Wayne County, Kentucky, the 54-MWac Barrelhead Solar Project converts sunlight
into electricity, providing clean, cost-effective, and reliable power for homes, businesses,
and communities across the Commonwealth.
Project construction is expected to begin in early 2028, with commercial operations targeted for 2029.
Upon completion of the Barrelhead Solar project’s operational life, panels and other project equipment will be removed from the site and the land will be restored
Barrelhead Solar is being developed by Birch Creek Development. Birch Creek was formed in 2019 by a group of experienced solar-industry executives. Birch Creek’s senior management group has collectively financed or developed solar generation projects in practically every state in the nation. Since inception, Birch has developed 36 utility scale solar projects, totaling 872 MW. Birch Creek is actively engaged in the development of more than 8 GW of solar power generation, and storage projects.
